He is Abd al-Salam bin Ibrahim al-Termanini. His family belongs to the village of Termanin near Aleppo. He was born in Aleppo in 1913. He obtained a state doctorate in law from the Faculty of Law - University of Paris in 1939, then was elected president of the Bar in Syria in 1947, then was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Aleppo in 1962, then was appointed head of the Civil Law Department at Damascus University In 1970, he contracted with Kuwait University to teach law there from 1971 to 1986. After that, he returned to the city of Aleppo and settled there until his death.
