General Surgery

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on the intra-abdominal organs and systems including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland (depending on the availability of a surgeon specializing in head and neck surgery). It also includes diseases related to the skin, breast, tissue and hernia.
