Anatomy

Anatomy is one of the branches of biology, which is the science of studying human organs, their structure, locations, description, and their relationships to each other. About exercising, knowing the limits of the body and the extent of its stress and activation.

It is the science of studying the structure of the body and the positions of its organs, one from another, by cutting it into parts. If the study extends to body tissues and is examined under a microscope, then it is called microscopic anatomy or histology.

Anatomy is divided into:

  • Gross anatomy: It is concerned with examining the parts of an animal's body using sight
  • Microscopic anatomy: includes the use of optical tools in the study of tissues of different structures, also known as histology, and also includes the study of cells

Anatomy was characterized by a progressive understanding of the functions of the organs and structures of the human body. Methods in the study of anatomy have greatly improved, from examining animals, through autopsies and carcasses, to the use of medical imaging techniques in the twentieth century, including X-rays, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging. Anatomy and physiology constituted a pair of sciences that are often studied together in many disciplines, as these two sciences study the structure and functions of the body, respectively.
