- A Syrian thinker looking at mythology and the history of religions as an introduction to understanding the spiritual dimension of man. He was born in 1941 in Homs, where he studied and obtained a secondary certificate, after which he moved to study in Damascus and obtained a bachelor's degree in economics in 1965 from Damascus University.
